This evening’s talk? “An Heir and a Spare”. This is all about the monarchs that we never had. When the heir to the throne did not become king (or queen) and someone else (the spare) became monarch instead.
This has happened surprisingly frequently during English then British history. We take a look at some of those, find out a bit more about those people and consider what might have happened if history had turned out differently.
