Out and about around Oxford
The city of Oxford is rightly a fascinating place to visit. But what of the towns and countryside around? The Oxfordshire Plain joins the Cotswolds to the west with the Chilterns to the east. It has the Upper Thames and its tributaries, the Coln, the Windrush, the Evenlode, the Cherwell and the Thame flowing through it.
This remote countryside is often passed through to reach more popular areas. Here lie scattered market towns and villages, each worth its own exploration.
