Get to see Dorchester-on-Thames in a new light
Perhaps not as well known as the larger Dorchester in Dorset, but Dorchester-on-Thames manages to pack a lot into a small area. It is not even a town, it is a village, with a population of less than 1,000.
With a history going back 6,000 years to Neolithic times, the Romans were here and it was a very important Saxon settlement. The Medieval Abbey church still remains as do former coaching inns.
And a trip to Dorchester would not be complete without a visit to Lettice’s tea room, run by volunteers.
