Oxford Town Tours

The city of dreaming spires

Get to know the beautiful streets of Britain's oldest university city

The ancient University city of Oxford has so, so much to offer, and many people offer tours.  Why us?  Our guides have been specifically trained to guide in Oxford and know the city intimately.

See Matthew Arnold’s “Dreaming Spires” at close quarters as we also discover the Martyrs’ Memorial, famous places like the Ashmolean Museum, the Bodleian Library, Christchurch, an abundance of Lewises, and peep into a college or two.

What can we squeeze into your tour?

In a 90 minute walking tour we will be able to see the main sights in the centre of the city, High Street, the University Church, Radcliffe Square, the Bodleian Library’s Schools Quadrangle, the Shedonian Theatre, and Broad Street.

In two hours we can extend that further, perhaps to the Carfax, the Covered Market, or the Martyr’s Memorial, or include a brief visit to one of the Oxford Colleges.

Half a day gives us time to explore a college more thoroughly, as well as see some of the slightly further distant sights including St. Giles, New College Lane, Magdalen College, Tom Tower, Christchurch Meadows, or the canal and river frontages.

In a full day Oxford is our oyster.  We can combine any of the above, with visits to a choice of places including the Ashmolean Museum or one of many other museums, Oxford Castle, the Botanic Gardens,  or a boat trip along the Isis.

And yet, we have still barely scratched the surface.  Contact us to create a unique tour for you.
