The Ridgeway Walking Tours

Discover Britain's oldest road

Explore the Ridgeway, used by humans for over 5,000 years

Discover highlights of one of the oldest tracks in the country.

Our Bronze Age ancestors worked out the best route to follow, and we can tread their path along some of the higher and drier ground of Southern England.

Today, The Ridgeway National Trail makes an excellent walking route with extensive views and historical sites.

Follow in the footsteps of the people who used this ancient route

There are many start and end points for walks along the Ridgeway.

You can choose from any of these places; Avebury, Ogbourne St. George, Ashbury, Wantage, West or East Ilsley, Streatley, Nuffield, Watlington, Chinnor, Princes Risborough or Wendover, and we will put together a suitable walk for us to explore together.

90 minute or two hour walks will be a return journey along part of the Ridgeway.

Our half day walk will normally allow us to walk a longer section of the path, then return, or we can explore a little away from the Ridgeway as well.

During a full day, we can either do a return trip along the Ridgeway, or a combined journey exploring the wider countryside as well as a section of the route.  Sometimes we can do a linear walk finishing at a different place.

For the Ridgeway, we can also offer a guided multi-day journey.

Here is just some of the beautiful scenery you can see along the Ridgeway:
