Henley-on-Thames Town Tours

Discover the lively and historic riverside town

River and rowing, and much more besides

Come with us and explore this quintessential English town at the heart of “the season” and hear about the rowing, the brewing and the River Thames.

Brakspears still has a brewery in the town, although not in its original location which is now a hotel.

Let’s also hear about Humphrey Gainsborough, Mary Blandy, Dusty Springfield and George Harrison, as well as seeing the town through the eyes of Midsomer’s Inspector Barnaby.

Even if Henley Regatta is not on the town is always lively and typifies an English riverside market town.

Immerse yourself in the Henley story

In our 75 minute tour, we can get a real feel for the town.  From a very traditional market place we will discover buildings as old as 1325, a brewing history, and transport links by road and water.

The tour can be more specialised, for example seeking out its Midsomer Murders locations.  Or we can arrange a brewing-focused tour.

In two hours we can also walk along the River Thames, perhaps to one of the Thames locks or to the famous reach where the rowing regatta is held.

A half day visit will also allow us to combine this with a visit to the River and Rowing Museum, or a boat trip on a longer section of river.

Here is just a glimpse of what Henley-on-Thames has to offer:
